World Skills Competition is the largest skill competition in the world held once every two years in a World Skills member country. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) & National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) launched India’s first National Skills Competition- IndiaSkills and has been leading India’s participation at World Skill Competition since 2011.

Government of Gujarat has opened up the gates for the youths celebrating excellence in skills and can showcase their skill talent through "India Skills Gujarat 2018". This competition will expose youth to a variety of skilled careers. The winners at the Regional Competition will represent to the “IndiaSkills 2018” which will open gates to the ‘WorldSkills 2019’, Kazan,Russia.

Gujarat Skill Development Mission

The objective of the mission is to create an overarching integrated framework for action for skill development. GSDM acts as an apex body for monitoring, coordination, convergence and providing overall policy direction for skill development activities in Gujarat.

Ultimate aim of the mission is to make each and every youth of Gujarat employable.  The mission always strives to systematize the skill development efforts in the state and create an environment where each and every youth not only gets employable skill training but also gets gainful employment.

Industrial Training Institute(ITI)

Industrial Training Institutes plays a vital role in economy of the state especially in terms of providing skilled manpower. Industrial Training Institute is functioning under Directorate of Employement & Training, Government of Gujarat.

The major objective is to provide Vocational Training and Employment Services to the youth in the State. Directorate of Employment & Training, Government of Gujarat has been in the forefront of implementing various skill-building programs with the aim of helping people get jobs. Major two training Schemes are Craftsman training Scheme (CTS) and Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS).

GUJARAT SKILL DEVELOPMENT MISSION

The objective of the mission is to create an overarching integrated framework for action for skill development and to act as apex body for monitoring, coordination, convergence and providing overall policy direction for skill development activities in Gujarat.

The objective of the mission is most beautifully captured in the words of Ho’ble CM of Gujarat and Chairman of the Mission “My vision is that each and every youth of Gujarat is employable.” 

This exactly is the ultimate aim of the mission. 



The mission wants to systematize the skill development efforts in the state and create an environment where each and every youth not only gets some employable skill training but also gets some gainful employment.
